Places To Ride

Places, Places Everywhere

Cycle tracks, pump tracks, purpose built circuits, Sustrans routes and even the open road. When you look for them there are beautiful places to ride your bike all over the region.

The South region has many great purpose built facilities where organised training takes place. The Sustrans National Cycle Network has many routes through the region. And we are one of the largest (in area) regions and so have thousands of miles of beautiful roads to enjoy. A big part of the region’s activity is working with local authorities and land owners to find and develop new places to ride. We also support a huge amount of coaching that gives people confidence to enjoy the off road and country lanes alike.

We’ve mapped out the dedicated traffic-free cycling venues in our region and will continue to develop this as we move forward. We’re keen to work with community groups, local authorities, clubs, and other cycling stakeholders who are looking to develop new cycling facilities in their area. Do get in touch.

We also have a huge network of quiet roads that are fantastic for road cycling, and many areas benefit from linked off road trails – bridleways and byways – which you’ll find using digital or paper based Ordnance Survey maps. Contact your nearest British Cycling club for some friendly local advice.
