Odd Down

Odd Down is a purpose built 1.5km cycle circuit to the South of Bath. Used by local clubs and coaches, British Cycling Youth Coaching and for series of races all year round.

The facilities are shared with other sports and as such there is a good cafe and comfortable changing rooms. There are two main series, the Winter and Summer ones. Although the races cater for all categories a key part of the Odd Down series is the focus the organisers puts on encouraging people new to racing. Saturdays in the winter especially is geared to helping new women riders enjoy their first few races. In fact, the number of women enjoying coaching and racing at Odd Down is driving the increase in women cyclist in the region.

The series’ are: Winter Series (Saturday afternoon) and Summer Series on Tuesday (men) and Thursday (women) evenings for seniors and juniors. These events are run by Avid Sport, with support from Somer Valley CC and the leisure operator (Better). The races cater predominantly for 2nd-4th cat racers of both genders with some Elite/1st cat races included in the calendar. There are two men’s and two women’s races per round.
