Castle Combe

Category: Easy

Castle Combe is the world famous 1.9 mile motor racing circuit in Wiltshire

It is also a regularly used for cycle races and training

Being a motor circuit the track is wide and the bends pretty smooth and shallow. There is very little jumping out of corners and as such Castle Combe is a great place to start racing. It is used for racing on Thursday evenings in the summer as well as the Castle Combe Easter Classic (held on Good Friday) run by Chippenham Wheelers where there are separate races for every category from youth U10 to E,1,2 men and women. Most years over 500 riders take part in the Easter Classic.

Over the last few years open training sessions have started on Tuesday evenings from April till September. Anyone can turn up and it is a great place to get a couple of hours of traffic free training. Again, such is the popularity of Tuesday night training that often 200-300 riders can take part.

The circuit is on the edge of Castle Combe village and can be accessed easily from both J18 and J17 of the M4. Postcode SN14 7EY
