2022 School Games (1-4 September)

As a region we have been invited to enter teams into the School Games Final 2022. This is a prestigious, multi-sports event hosted at Loughborough University every 2 years. A short highlight video from the last event and what you can expect from 2022 can be found here

Day 1 – Indoor Track Racing (Derby Velodrome)

Day 2 – Crit Racing at Loughborough University Campus

Day 3 – Off-Site Road Race

We ask that all riders who would like to be considered for the event should send a copy of their ‘Cycling CV’ to before the 31st May 2022. Ideally they should also include a refence from their club, supporting their application.

As a guide we will be looking at the following (please include details of this in your ‘Cycling CV’)

  • Riders must hold an active British Cycling race licence showing they live in the ‘South’ region as defined by British Cycling.
  • Riders must be actively racing in the 2022 National Youth Circuit and National Youth Omnium Series.
  • Riders must be Male – Youth A, or Female – Youth A or B2 in 2022.


  • Ideally be supporting the regional race series and development centre sessions.
  • Ideally be helping to develop and promote cycling in younger age groups.
  • Ideally be supporting their local, or a regional Club.

Race results, performances with individual events & personal skills (attitude, commitment, behaviour, discipline, teamwork) will be considered as part of the selection criteria.

The selected team, including any reserves, will be expected to make every effort to attend training sessions organised in the lead up to the event
