Ethan Craik – World Junior Champion

Amongst the current uncertainty, let’s give a massive congratulations to Ethan Craik – one of the south’s most talented and naturally skilled bike riders – who has just become UCI Downhill MTB Junior World Cup Champion (overall) in his first year competing on the world stage! After two solid performances (4th and 7th) in rounds 1 and 2, Ethan took the top step in round 3, and followed it up with a 3rd in the final round at the weekend to seal the overall win.
The 17 year old is no stranger to firsts, winning at BMX from an early age riding at Gosport BMX Club and the BMX National Series, showing immense bike handling skills alongside raw speed and power.
Ethan followed in his father’s footsteps by switching to MTB Downhill at 14 years old, immediately demonstrating the value of those core BMX skills, instantly competitive at regional and national level.
In 2019 Ethan joined the full GT Factory Racing Team to compete in the World Cup series and once the season really got going, showed he is a world class bike rider. The rest is history – and just the beginning of what we suspect will be a long and successful career.
